In the Ordzhonikidze district of Yekaterinburg, at the end of the working day, two police officers who served in one of the public order units entered the pawnshop territory and announced the seizure and movement of two expensive cars to the territory of the impoundment, under the pretext that these cars did not have state numbers.
On the offer of the car pawnshop employees to explain on what basis the police officers act, the latter could not explain anything and demanded to allow tow trucks to transport cars to the car pawnshop territory.
The lawyer Andrei Bochkarev, who arrived at the scene, found that the police officers were acting without any legal basis, indicated to the police officers that their actions were illegal, after which he immediately informed the operational duty officer of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region about the conflict situation.
At the request of the lawyer, the operational group left, which on the spot confirmed the groundlessness of the actions of the police officers to seize the cars. By nightfall, all police officers left the pawnshop territory, and the cars remained standing in their places.
Currently, an official check is being carried out in relation to negligent police officers.
